from dark cruelty I see,
as in clouds across the moon,
become where light shines through.
Brief commentary
I’ve been feeling dismayed by current events, particularly after the Renee Good murder. It really is like there are cracks of grief and shock in my heart.
Today I’m trying to stop being dragged down by it and, instead, use the pain to renew my commitment to my values—such as compassion and critical thinking—and pursuits—such as making serenity poems and photos.

I love the imagery in this, and the photo complements it perfectly. I think it was a good call to replace blood with light in your revision--it's much more hopeful! ❤️🌘
