It's our job as makers, as writers and singers and painters and dancers and actors
and those born to act as mirrors to a world that sought to contain us
inside a dogma meant only for the meek and compliant.
ā JEANETTE LEBLANC
Growing up, I learned itās best
to give more than I take.
Now Iām trying to learn
to take enough that I can make.
Some things Iām learning to ātake,ā so that I have more energy and time to āmakeā (create/write):
breaks
advantage of spare or stolen moments
attention away from managing othersā feelings and onto taking care of my own
help that is offered
help that I ask for
help that is not perfect according to my standards
help that I recruit from my kids
