Got One More

A poem for shifting my perspective back to gratitude

Today, I got one more snuggle with my toddler,
one more laugh with my older kids,
one more kiss with my lover,
one more sentence written in my novel,
one more cup of hot coffee,
one more item of business done,
one more customer helped at work,
one more check-in with a friend,
one more song in my ears,
one more deep breath,
one more glimpse of the sun.

I don’t know what will happen next,
but each thing that does
is a bonus,
a gift.
