Alphabet Meditation Verses: Z

Zero ego, zero fuss.
Climb up out of the fray;
watch from a higher level
all the dramas of my day.
     The show goes on
     with fretting gone.

Blue sky joy, hurricane strain,
everything comes and goes.
Stop being the “me” that’s in the play.
Be the one who watches -- and knows
     behind this “I”
     there’s just an Eye.

Life’s river flows how it will;
I’m not the one who brings things about.
Just make my best guess at what to do next,
then let the words fade out.
     I’m not the giver;
     it’s just the river.
