Alphabet Meditation Verses: W
What task I'm doing, however mundane,
what pains or emotions I feel,
what object I'm holding -- I want to hold
with honor for what is real.
I wrote this poem after learning about the Zen concept this author refers to as "nyoho," a practice of "treating each and every thing we encounter with respect and care." For me, this comes down to, and goes along with, a general mindset of acknowledging and respecting what is, rather than only what I want.
